Carignan
Vin de France
From the Les Plots vineyard site, on schists with a predominance of chloritic formations at around 250 metres above sea level, Carignan des Plots is made exclusively from Carignan sourced from old vines over sixty years old.
This single-parcel cuvée is based on four approaches to vinification and ageing, equally divided between traditional vinification and carbonic maceration, followed by ageing in vats or French oak barrels. The blending of these different expressions aims to reveal the full diversity and complexity of the variety.
The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully selected directly on the vine before low-intervention vinification, without filtration and with limited use of sulphur.
The nose reveals notes of black fruits. The palate combines depth and balance, carried by tannins gradually softened through ageing, with nuances of leather, liquorice and spices.
This cuvée naturally accompanies game, characterful meats and regional specialities.
Collection
Collection brings together the cuvées that we choose to produce only in certain vintages that we consider particularly suited to extended ageing.
Initiated with the 2007 vintage, this series is produced in limited quantities from grape varieties and terroirs that we wish to accompany further through time. Each number is therefore a testimony to our work, the vintage and the wine’s evolution over the years.
